Shaymin is a Mythical Grass-type Pokémon originally introduced in Generation IV. Like other Mythical Pokémon, it cannot be traded with other players.
Shaymin has two Formes: Land Forme and Sky Forme. While Land Forme is a pure Grass-type, changing to Sky Forme transforms it into a Grass/Flying-type and significantly increases its Attack stat.
Shaymin Land Forme vs. Sky Forme and Form Change Cost
To put it simply,
Sky Forme is vastly superior to
Land Forme.
When Shaymin changes into Sky Forme, it sacrifices a portion of its Defense in exchange for nearly 50 additional Attack, dramatically improving its performance in PvE raids.

There are no restrictions on changing Formes, and you can switch between them freely. However, each Forme Change costs:
- 10,000 Stardust
- 25 Shaymin Candy
How to Get Shaymin (Including Shiny Shaymin)

Shaymin Best Moveset And DPS Ranking (PvE)
Exclusive Move: Seed Flare
| Category | PvE | PvP |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Grass | |
| Power | 115 | 130 |
| Energy | 100 | 75 |
| Cooldown | 2.5 s | – |
Although Seed Flare is Shaymin’s exclusive signature move, it is not particularly impressive in either PvE or PvP.
Even compared to Grass Knot, its PvE performance falls noticeably short. When compared with signature moves like Zeraora’s Plasma Fists or Jirachi’s Doom Desire, Seed Flare feels rather underwhelming. 🤔

GO Battle League : Trainer Battle PvP Ranking
Despite its respectable stats, Shaymin Sky Forme struggles in Trainer Battles.
Its relatively low CP ceiling makes it difficult to compete in the Master League, while its movepool consists exclusively of Grass-type Charged Moves, giving it poor coverage against common meta Pokémon.
As a result, Shaymin Sky Forme is generally not recommended for the Great League, Ultra League, or Master League.
