What to Prepare for GO Fest Global 2026
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Weather-Appropriate Clothing | Check the forecast in advance and prepare for extreme heat or heavy rain. |
| Water | You’ll likely be walking for 5+ hours, so stay hydrated throughout the event. |
| Scout Your Play Area | The most important preparation. Choose a location with lots of active Trainers for faster raids and easier group play. Joining a Community Ambassador Meetup beforehand is highly recommended. |
| Power Bank | You’ll almost certainly need one. |
| Pokémon GO Plus+ | Auto-catching devices have a lower catch rate but make farming much more convenient. |
| Poké Balls | Stock up on plenty of Poké Balls before the event starts. |
| Pinap Berries & Silver Pinap Berries | Save them for rare Pokémon and raid bosses to maximize Candy gains. |
| Mega Evolution | Mega-Evolved Pokémon provide Candy and Candy XL bonuses for matching types. If you’re farming Mewtwo Candy, consider using a Psychic-type Mega Evolution. |
| Party Play | Highly recommended. Party Play grants useful bonuses, shares timer durations for certain effects, and doubles the power of Party Power-boosted Charged Attacks in raids. |
| Adventure Effects | For Pokémon farming, consider Black Kyurem’s Freeze Shock (higher catch rate) and Origin Forme Palkia’s Spacial Rend (increased encounter radius). If your priority is raiding, Crowned Sword Zacian’s Behemoth Blade provides an excellent offensive boost. |
Mega Mewtwo
Super Mega Mewtwo Raids
While the Legendary Raid lineup is impressive, Mega Mewtwo is unquestionably the main attraction of GO Fest Global 2026.
Legendary Pokémon return to raids regularly, but Mega Mewtwo is expected to remain extremely rare. As one of the strongest and most popular Pokémon in Pokémon GO, it’s likely that Scopely will continue to keep its availability limited.
Unlike standard raids, Super Mega Raids feature shields, meaning Mega Mewtwo will require significantly larger raid groups than most Legendary Raids.
Mega Mewtwo X & Mega Mewtwo Y Guide
Looking for move sets, battle performance, rankings, and Adventure Effects for Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y?
Check out our complete guide below.
Zeraora Special Research
Zeraora, the Mythical Electric-type Pokémon, makes its Pokémon GO debut through a Special Research available during GO Fest Global 2026.
Simply log in during the event to receive the Special Research. While there is no time limit to complete it, finishing it during GO Fest is generally the most efficient option.
Zeraora is one of the strongest Electric-type attackers in Pokémon GO, making it well worth investing Rare Candy regardless of its IVs.
GO Pass Reward And a Gold Bottle Cap
During GO Fest Global 2026, the GO Pass Point earning limit will be removed.
All Trainers who reach Rank 100 will receive a Lucky Trinket, while players who purchase the GO Pass Deluxe will also earn a Gold Bottle Cap.
The Lucky Trinket allows you to initiate a Lucky Trade with another Trainer, guaranteeing a Pokémon with at least 12/12/12 IVs, making it an incredibly valuable reward.
However, its value is still overshadowed by the Gold Bottle Cap, which allows you to perfectly maximize a Pokémon’s IVs.
For a full explanation of both items and how they work, see the guide below.
