What Is Hyper Training?
How Hyper Training Works
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Requirements | Silver Bottle Cap Can increase one selected stat only |
Gold Bottle Cap Can increase all stats | |
| A Pokémon that is at least Good Buddy level | |
| Overview | Completing Hyper Training tasks increases a Pokémon’s IVs. |
| Each completed training stage raises the selected IV by 1 point, and tasks become more difficult as the IV increases. | |
| Restrictions | Shadow Pokémon cannot undergo Hyper Training. |
Hyper Training is a system that allows players to improve a Pokémon’s IVs by using a Silver Bottle Cap or Gold Bottle Cap on a Pokémon that has reached at least the Good Buddy level.
Once Hyper Training begins, players receive a special training research that lasts for up to 365 days. Completing the assigned tasks increases the selected IVs.
Note
- Shadow Pokémon are not eligible for Hyper Training.
- Pokémon that have undergone Hyper Training cannot be transferred to Pokémon HOME.
- However, they can still be transferred to Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!.
Silver, Gold Bottle Caps
In the main series Pokémon games, Bottle Caps are items that allow players to improve a Pokémon’s Individual Values (IVs).
For many years, Pokémon GO did not allow IV adjustment. However, with the introduction of Silver and Gold Bottle Caps, players can now improve IVs through Hyper Training.
| Bottle Cap | Effect |
|---|---|
Silver Bottle Cap | Increases one selected stat |
Gold Bottle Cap | Increases all stats |
Players can choose which stats—Attack, Defense, or HP—to increase.
Because Silver Bottle Caps only improve one stat, they are most efficient when used on Pokémon that are already close to perfect, such as Pokémon with IV spreads like 15/15/12 or 15/14/15.
Silver and Gold Bottle Caps are available only during select events, usually through paid tickets, and they have an expiration date.
When a Bottle Cap expires, it is automatically removed from the inventory and replaced with 50,000 Stardust.

Best Pokémon to Use Hyper Training On
