As part of the Pokémon GO 10th Anniversary celebration, Trainers around the world can complete free Timed Research that rewards them with a Mewtwo featuring perfect IVs and a special background.
- Date: Timed Research deadline: September 6 at 11:59 p.m.
- Reward: 100% IV (4*) Mewtwo with a special background
- Event Details: Complete the free Timed Research before the deadline (26/9/6 23:59)
To celebrate Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary, a Mewtwo with perfect IVs and a special background will be available to Trainers.
Trainers must log in during the event period and complete the Timed Research by September 6, claiming all rewards, to encounter Mewtwo.
- Lucky players may be able to encounter a Shiny Mewtwo.
- Trainers who caught Mewtwo at the 7/9/2026 Times Square Live Event will receive different IV Mewtwo.
- Mewtwo featuring the Times Square background is expected to become available again in the future.
Although there has been no official announcement, Mega Mewtwo Raids may feature an exclusive move during the Mega Finale event. Therefore, it may be worth waiting until the event period to catch Mewtwo.

- Catch 10 Pokémon: Master Ball
- Power up Pokémon 10 times: 500 Mewtwo Mega Energy
- Complete Reward: IV 100 (4*) Mewtwo with a special background
