Raid Strategy
Shadow Raid Mechanics and Recommended Group Size
Shadow Legendary Raids provide 100 additional seconds compared to standard raids, allowing trainers more time to defeat the raid boss.
The reason for this extended timer is that when a Shadow Legendary Raid Boss drops below 60% HP, it becomes enraged, significantly increasing its Attack and Defense stats. When this happens, an “Enraged” notification will appear during the battle.
To counter this mechanic, trainers can use Purified Gems, which are crafted from four Shadow Shards, to subdue the raid boss and return its stats closer to normal.
As a result, successfully calming the boss often determines whether the raid succeeds or fails. Unless your group is well-prepared with optimized counters and high-level trainers, we recommend attempting Shadow Palkia raids with at least 5–7 trainers for a safe and consistent clear.
