With Pokémon GO Fest 2026 coming to an end on July 11–12, 2026, the official Pokémon GO account briefly posted—and then deleted—a mysterious teaser.
The video was uploaded to Pokémon GO’s X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok accounts before being removed. Its message read:
Team GO Rocket attempted to capture Mewtwo in Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen, but failed. On the final day… did they finally succeed?
The teaser also ended with the following message:
Team GO Rocket never gives up.
Although the video was only 15 seconds long, it strongly suggests that a Team GO Rocket-themed event may be coming soon.
For reference, the previously announced Ultra Unlock events have already been mostly revealed:
- Ultra Unlock Part 1: Increased bonuses during the Professor Willow’s Birthday event.
- Ultra Unlock Part 2: Water Festival 2026, featuring the Pokémon GO debuts of Veluza and Cramorant.
- Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Starmie Super Mega Raid Day, featuring the debut of Mega Starmie.
If the teaser is indeed related to Team GO Rocket, a Shadow Legendary Pokémon seems like the most likely possibility.
Since GO Fest 2026 revolved around Mewtwo, many players in the community are hoping that Armored Mewtwo could return as part of Pokémon GO’s 10th Anniversary celebration. That said, this is purely speculation, and nothing has been officially confirmed yet. 🤔
It’s also worth remembering that after Pokémon GO Fest 2025, Niantic held a Finale Event about a month later. During the Max Finale event, Eternatus made its Pokémon GO debut.
